Our First Bottling: A Pride Month Milestone

Happy Pride!

We could not be more excited to have our first vintage officially in bottle. And to have it all come to fruition in June feels… well, it feels kismet.

I know. Sounds gay, right? Perfect.

It was a gorgeous morning in Eastern Washington. The sun was shining, the mountains were out, and the bottling line was clinking away at a pace that somehow felt both impossibly fast and painfully slow. After months of planning, tasting, blending, and waiting, the moment we'd been working toward was finally here.

Suddenly, there it was. Family Room. In a bottle.

Holding the first bottle of Family Room Wine felt like a culmination of everything I wanted to see represented in wine, but rarely did.

A wine rooted in Queer joy

An accessible wine with exceptional value. A wine people could proudly bring to a dinner party, share with friends, or open after a long day of work just because. Most importantly, a wine that gives back.

From the beginning, Family Room has been about more than what's in the glass. It's about community. It's about chosen family. It's about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, celebrated, and connected. And it's about using our success to support LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs through our upcoming grant program.

So, standing on that bottling floor, watching cases stack up and bottles roll down the line, I felt proud. Grateful. Excited. Maybe a little emotional, if we're being honest.

What Family Room Wine represents

This bottle represents something bigger than a single vintage. It represents the kind of community I always hoped to see in wine: one where Queer people are celebrated, where chosen family is honored, and where gathering around a table with people you love is reason enough to open something special.

So really, bottling isn't a culmination at all. It's just the beginning.

Our inaugural Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc are officially in bottle, and we'll be sharing more updates as we get closer to launch. Don't forget to join our email list. We cannot wait for you to taste what we've been working on.

Here's to Pride, chosen family, and the moments that bring us together. We'll see you around the table.
